In our company we deal with projects from the scope of automation which are part of projects of machines or devices designed for serial production. One of such projects in the field of electroplating is PSB-50 barrel post constructed and sold by Industrial Service s.c company. Within the framework of this project we developed an automation system to the PSB-50 post in many technical versions.

The PSB-50 Barrel post is meant for metallization of small elements. The automation system has been developed on programmable drivers coming from Moller company and in its structure one may distinguish:

• object devices (rectifier, immersion heaters, etc.)
• supply and power distribution cabinet
• control cabinet

In supply cabinet there are executive elements and protections for object-oriented devices. All signals from PSB-50 post are entered into EASY or easyControl unit installed in supply cabinet. All most important parameters of the device and alarm events are displayed on a large MFD LCD screen installed in control cabinet. All devices of the easy system are connected with each other by EASYNet communication network. Such construction of arrangement automation, offers huge possibilities to develop additional features taking individual needs of the customer into account. Basic functions of automation system in PSB-50 device:

• automatic or manual work of PSB-50 post
• setting working time
• registration of working time in process bath
• setting and adjusting the temperature of process bath with function of protection against heaters burn
• ability to „weekend” steering of heating system
• setting time of barrel turnovers and time of rinsing
• counting correct and incorrect cycles in automatic mode
• sound and optical signaling of breakdown with simultaneous display the cause of the failure on the panel

Automation system may be optionally equipped with:

• rectifier control
• dosing pump control
• registration and archiving parameters and course of every process
• reporting and printout
